David A. Diamond

Dave Diamond is a current Managing Director of DP&F and a member of its Trusts and Estates Department. Dave’s practice encompasses estate planning, trust and probate estate administration, estate and gift taxation, and resolution of trust and estate disputes.

Dave was born and raised in the Boston area. After graduating high school, he escaped the cold and snow by heading for Tucson, where he attended the University of Arizona. Dave graduated in 1981 with a B.A. in Political Science and Spanish, and then attended UC Davis School of Law, earning his J.D. in 1984. Dave started his legal career in Fresno before relocating to Napa in 1989, where he joined the firm of Gaw, Van Male et al. In 1995, Dave decided to hang out his shingle and operated a successful solo practice for nine years before joining DP&F in 2004.

Dave has been a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law (State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization) since 1993. He has been recognized by San Francisco Magazine as a Northern California “Super Lawyer” for several years running. Dave is a member of the American Bar Association Section on Real Property, Probate and Trust Law, and the California State Bar Trusts and Estates Section.  He has been published in California Trusts & Estates Quarterly and has given numerous educational presentations for California Continuing Education of the Bar, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, and other organizations.

Dave resides in Sonoma with his wife, Diana, and four daughters. He is an avid sports fan and remains a proud member of the Red Sox Nation. Dave is actively involved (Diana would say to excess) with the Sonoma Valley Youth Soccer Association. With what little leisure time remains after coaching and officiating youth soccer and driving the kids all over town to their various activities, he enjoys watching sports and politics on television, cooking, wine, and hanging out with Diana.
