Aleson Clarke is an associate attorney in Dickenson, Peatman & Fogarty’s Intellectual Property and Land Use departments. In her intellectual property practice, Aleson assists clients with the enforcement and protection of their trademarks and copyrights, as well as on issues of unfair competition and trade secret protection. In her land use practice, she represents landowners as well as purchasers and sellers of real property helping them obtain and understand entitlements and related permits from local, state and federal government agencies. Her practice has particular focus on wineries, vineyards and resort developers.
 
Aleson is a native of Arizona and earned her B.S. in Business Administration as the Outstanding Graduate in the Marketing Department at the University of Arizona, Eller College of Business in 2003. She began working in the wine industry immediately after graduation with Gallo Wine Co. as part of E&J Gallo’s Management Development Program. She worked at the distributor level as a sales representative and a district manager, focusing on account development, sales, and distribution.
 
Before attending law school, Aleson studied French in Aix-en-Provence and Lyon, France and obtained her Diplôme D’Études en Langue Française (D.E.L.F.) from the Ministère de l’Éducation Nationale in 2005.
 
During law school, Aleson earned a certificate in International Business and Trade Law and took part in an exchange program to study international law at McGill Law School in Montreal. In 2008, she earned her law degree from the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law.
 
Prior to joining DP&F, Aleson was a clerk in Washington D.C. on the Senate Judiciary Committee under Senator Jon Kyl and a summer associate at Quarles & Brady LLP in Chicago.
