• Successfully represented startup company in defense of trade secret and unfair competition claim by large entity, resulting in the denial of a restraining order and preliminary injunction against the client, and abandonment of the action by the Plaintiff
• Successfully defended, after multiple day trial, a construction company against a “serious and willful claim” before the Worker's Compensation Appeals Board
• Successfully defended large construction industry manufacturer/supplier against unionization attempt by major union. After month-long campaign, the union's petition was withdrawn the night before the election
• Represented professional services entity in large employment-tax action brought by the state for categorization of professional services personnel as independent contractors.
• Represented mortgage lending company in defense of wage claims involving recoverable draws and alleged unpaid overtime brought by former mortgage brokers
• Represented landscape supplier in sexual harassment and wrongful termination claim involving a former paramour.
• Represented county courts with respect to labor and employment matters, including negotiations over MOU and employment issues under the Trial Court Employment Protection and Governance Act
• Performed labor and employment audit/diligence work on behalf of foreign purchaser of winery
• Obtained summary judgment on behalf of printing company against a wrongful termination claim on the basis that the state law claim was preempted by federal labor law.
• Obtained a defense judgment on behalf of a heavy equipment manufacturer in appeal of an injury-related cal-OSHA citation
• Drafted executive compensation agreements between bank and executive officers, involving loans, golden parachute and executive severance issues under IRC sections 409a, 280(g) and Sarbanes-Oxley implications
• Defended winery operator from collective wage and hour claims of current and former employees
