W. Scott Thomas, a director of Dickenson Peatman & Fogarty and a member of its Trusts and Estates department, has been honored as Attorney of the Year at the annual holiday luncheon of the Napa Legal Secretaries Association at Silverado Country Club. The panel of judges for the 50-year-old Association consisted of two attorneys and one legal assistant, who reviewed nominations submitted by legal secretaries. The panel made its selection without knowing the identity of the winning nominee. Criteria for the winner were professional conduct, relationship with clients, and participation in legal and community activities.

Mr. Thomas has focused on estate planning, estate administration and estate litigation for three decades. He has planned the estates of hundreds of working or retired business owners, corporate executives and professionals, and has set up numerous charitable foundations for clients. Worth Magazine has named him one of the Top 100 Estate Planners in the nation, and he has annually been cited by his peers as one of the “Best Lawyers in America” and a “Northern California Superlawyer”. Before joining DP&F in 2007, he was a partner in the San Francisco office of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius.
