Elizabeth Lance (formerly Cinque) is an associate within DP&F’s cannabis and corporate groups. Elizabeth’s practice includes corporate formation and governance, mergers and acquisitions, state and local regulatory compliance, and land use.
Prior to joining DP&F, Elizabeth practiced at a local law firm in its cannabis department. Elizabeth assisted cannabis businesses transition into the regulated market and provided consultation on local and state cannabis rules and regulations. Elizabeth has successfully obtained permits in the North Bay and state licenses for cannabis cultivators, manufacturers, distributors, and retailers.
Before practicing law for the cannabis industry, Elizabeth worked at a large firm in San Francisco where she advised clients on state and local tax issues involving corporate and franchise taxes, and sales and use tax matters. She has experience in advising multi-state and multinational clients on the state and local tax implications of corporate transactions and reorganizations.
Elizabeth received her B.A. from the University of California Santa Barbara and her J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law. During law school, she achieved CALI awards for receiving the highest grade in Legal Writing and Research, Business Bankruptcy, Constitutional Law, and Criminal Procedure, and earned a specialization certificate with distinction in Business Law. She also obtained her LL.M in Taxation from the University of San Francisco, where she earned the CALI award in State and Local Taxation.
