  • Biography

    Michael D. Corrigan joined DP&F in 2020 as Senior Counsel in the Real Property, Business, and Wine Law departments.  With the perspective that comes from 20 years of experience as in-house counsel for a North Bay construction materials supplier, Mike knows how to provide cost-effective legal solutions in support of business goals.

    Mike’s legal and educational experience – including legal representation of both the regulators and the regulated, for entities big and small, on a wide range of business and real estate issues – gives him a broad background that informs the counsel he provides to his clients.  His practice focuses on representing Wine Country business in a full range of real estate transactions and agreements, commercial and business transactions, and business formation and compliance.  He has managed real estate transactions from inception to closing, including negotiating purchase and sale agreements, title review, due diligence, environmental review, and regulatory analysis.  He has also negotiated and drafted agricultural leases, easements, and other real estate agreements.  His commercial contract experience includes drafting standard sales terms and conditions, negotiating bank credit agreements and helping manage on-going compliance, and reviewing and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts.  Mike also has experience in the nitty-gritty of corporate governance, including entity formation and compliance for corporations, LLCs, and partnerships.

    Mike is a graduate of Stanford University, Palo Alto, California with a B.S. in Earth Systems, and the Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College, Portland, Oregon, where he earned a Certificate in Environmental Law and was on the law review, Environmental Law.  He spent his summers during law school doing biological field work in the Sierras for timber harvest plans, and in his third year of law school served as a law clerk in Natural Resources Section of the General Counsel Division of the Oregon Department of Justice.

    Mike lives in Napa with his wife, two teenage boys, and an inordinate amount of Legos.
