DP&F Attorneys Katja Loeffelholz and Michael Mercurio will speak at the Pepperdine Caruso School of Law’s symposium, “The Developing Landscape of the Wine & Alcohol Industry.” The event, to be held on Friday, April 7, 2023 will take a close look at recent developments in Wine Law.

Discussion will include analysis of legal decisions pertaining to the wine and alcohol industries such as Granholm v. Heald and Tennessee v. Thomas, as well as panels discussing the growing fourth tier of the industry as well as Wine NFTs and pertinent developments in intellectual property.

Intellectual Property Attorney Katja Loeffelholz will speak on the panel, “NFTs and Alcohol,” and will give an overview of how NFTs are intersecting in the alcohol beverage space. Attorney Mike Mercurio, a member of the firm’s Alcohol Beverage Law and Compliance group, will speak on the panel, “Growth of the ‘Fourth Tier’ of the Industry,” which will discuss recent developments with respect to “third party providers” who provide shipping, delivery, marketing, and other services for licensees like wineries and retailers.
